Join us for Seattle Pride!

Show Seattle how important all our families are to kids in need by joining us this year at Pride! Families Like Ours will be celebrating families in this year’s Seattle Pride Parade, Sunday June 28th. We need you! Come and join us, pass out balloons to kids, information about becoming a foster and adoptive family and have fun. FLO needs you, your family, friends and co-workers. We are #44 in the lineup for the Seattle Pride Parade this Sunday the 28th. There are over 150 floats and marching contingents this year.

We need to have everyone wanting to be in the parade, kids and adults in our meeting area at the corner of 3^rd & Madison – look for the FLO balloons. From there we will head to our assigned parade line up spot on Seneca by 10:20am; the parade starts at 11am.

Families please remember strollers if needed for your smaller children, or a wagon. ALSO everyone please remember to bring water bottles, and extras if you think you might need it. The parade organizers do not supply water along the route. We will be walking behind a FLO banner, and also handing out FLO balloons to people along the route.

I will also need a couple of volunteers to be parade route monitors. These volunteers will help keep the group moving and to not spread out to far. The organizers Seattle Out and Proud would like the parade to move along at a steady pace.

RFoPS (Rainbow Families of Puget Sound) and several other LGBT family groups are hosting an all-community picnic to kick off Pride week.

The picnic is from 10-2 at Carkeek park on June 20th....we will provide some chicken, and a few side dishes... bring chairs, blankets, drinks and anything special your family might like to eat.

All are welcome and we look forward to a new tradition of connecting our "family"!
