“They’ll” have problems from growing up in an abnormal family!
Well, first let’s look at what is a “normal” family. The kids we are talking about today are in the foster care system because their families abused, neglected, sexualized them. Most of those kids came from “straight” families with a man and a woman, granted sometimes multiple men and women, but still supposed “straight” family units.
There are no existing studies that suggest that children raised with gay or lesbian parents are psychologically or developmentally different from their counterparts. Some psychologists even suggest that gay families are more likely to discuss difficult issues that other families often shy away from. There are many social workers that regularly place with gay and lesbian families because they are often able to deal with the hard stuff because they have already dealt with hardships in life.
