Aaron needs a forever family

Aaron will be 16 in December 2009 and needs a family of his own to celebrate that birthday, the holidays, accomplishments at school and so much more.

Aaron came to the attention of the Families Like Ours team at the end of 2008 after spending four years in foster care due to neglect from his birth home. We've watched him grow, mature and become an amazing individuals but we are not Aaron's family, so we and Aaron need your help to make his dream of a family come true. Aaron is an LGBT youth, F-M trans teen that has a great sense of humor, fantastic artistic abilities and a big heart. Aaron needs an accepting, permanent family that has strong yet flexible parenting skills. We've learned from Aaron that he would like to be an adoptive parent some day, obtain a college degree and maybe become a teacher. Aaron is wonderful with younger children, likes to help out, loves music and is very creative. Above all else, Aaron is a typical 15 year that just wants to be part of a family.

Aaron is bright and has good academic potential, but lack of permanency and other issues have left Aaron apathetic about school. Aaron has experienced being harassed for not fitting in, but has been getting involved with the school GSA group. Aaron has also attended Camp Ten Tree's summer camp the last couple of summer's and has build some good friendships there.
